rui grew up as a free-spirited and adventurous kid who found joy in new adventures and new experiences. rui fell in love with snowboarding at the ripe age of three and, shortly after, found his love for skating; it wasn’t long after that til he found interest in surfing. growing up as the youngest in his family, to a successful chinese athlete father and a successful korean actress mother, he was always pampered with the things he wanted. deciding to follow in his fathers footstep's rui wanted to become a famous athlete until his parents decided to give him an unexpected ultimatum: it was either he went back to university and finished his senior year or no more training. now, back in college at the age of twenty-three, he is back to re-experiencing life in college and finding interest in life outside of being an athlete.
